Hiking Trips

I. Easy Hikes (ideal for families too)

Kozjak Waterfall:

  • Distance: approx. 2.7 km (round trip from the main road)
  • Estimated time: approx. 1 hour 15 minutes
  • Description: Discover a hidden gem tucked away in the forest near Kobarid, beneath the majestic peaks of the Krn Mountains. On warm days, a refreshing dip in the pool below the waterfall is a must. Don’t miss the pancakes at Lazar Camp!




Ravelnik Open-Air Museum:

  • Distance: approx. 3.2 km
  • Estimated time: approx. 1–1.5 hours
  • Description: Take a pleasant walk among World War I trenches and tunnels, offering a moving glimpse into history.


Šunik Water Grove:

  • Distance: approx. 2.3 km
  • Estimated time: approx. 40 minutes
  • Description: A short, refreshing walk along the peaceful Lepenjica stream, famous for its positive-energy surroundings. Enjoy the natural pools, gentle cascades and small waterfalls.

 


 


Virje Waterfall:

  • Description: An idyllic waterfall surrounded by lush vegetation, creating a picturesque setting. It is an ideal place for a refreshing swim on warm days. It is also worth walking to the nearby Glijuna spring, just a few minutes away.

 



 

II. Moderate Hikes

  • Description: A spectacular waterfall located 8 kilometres from Bovec in western Slovenia. It rises from a karst spring and consists of two sections. You can choose between an easily accessible viewpoint or a more difficult and longer hiking route to the top of the waterfall.
